FAQ's are updated on a regular basis.

 4MicroNET

?. Who are MicroNET?

A. MicroNET is the trading name of MicroNET Information Services Ltd. A UK registered limited liability Company specialising in providing training and training support services to Cisco Systems Inc and the Cisco Learning Partner Community.

?. Are MicroNET authorised by Cisco Systems Inc?

A. MicroNET is a Cisco Learning Partner Associate. The training division of MicroNET is not directly affiliated with Cisco Systems, but we are affiliated with a Cisco Learning Solutions Partner. This is a Channel setup by Cisco to coordinate and manage the distribution of Cisco Authorised Learning Products.

?. Who do you provide training courses to?

A. We provide training directly to customers of Cisco Systems Inc, to Cisco Partners and indirectly via the supply of Cisco CCSI to the Cisco Learning Partner Community.

We also provide specialist internal training courses to Cisco Systems Inc.

?. MicroNET are not the cheapest provider of Cisco courses, - why should I attend your courses?

A. This industry is full of companies who claim to provide the best quality training courses at knock down prices. Many have rather dubious claims and qualifications. A training course is a product. This product is an investment in the future of the business and that of the delegate. It represents a significant investment in time, effort for the business and delegate, as well as a large financial commitment.

Whenever a product is purchased, its best not to go for the cheapest one you can find. It makes far more sense to go for the best one in your budget and the one that has a proven track record.

?. MicroNET courses don’t seem to be as costly as those provided by the training companies. Am I getting the same course and quality?

A. Many training companies are actually training ‘organisation’ companies. They outsource all deliveries to third parties. Due to the nature of the training business, this model work well as in the commercial sense and reduces their overheads.

By attending a MicroNET course, you are working directly with the people that provide the training. This eliminates a complete tier of complexity and cost. Our clients benefits from this considerable cost saving.

When attending our course and workshops you get the same content, the same instructors and the same quality.

?. Many of your courses are 4 days, where-as other training companies advertise them as 5 days. Do you miss sections out?

A. We are able to condense most standard Cisco five day courses into 4 days or less without reducing any content. Most training courses are usually four and a half days (or less). Scheduling 5 days for a course is an inefficient use of delegates time and does not serve the business interests of our clients as it simply wastes a days productivity.

With the exception of the first day, our classes run from 9am to 5pm with a short lunch break.

?. What training delivery methods do you provide?

A. MicroNET courses are delivered as intensive hands-on Instructor Led Training (ILT) workshops. We can also deliver Web-based distance learning and self study courses. Please contact us for further details of alternative delivery formats.

?. Do you provide lunch and refreshments or do I make my own arrangements?

A. We looked into the option of providing lunch. When we asked our clients if they would like us to provide lunch or receive a discount on the cost of a course. They choose the discount.

Not providing lunch also ensures that we are able to keep the lunch window to a reasonable amount of time. This helps to maximise course time. Our lunch breaks are generally 30 to 45 minutes. Delegates are given the option of leaving the training room and purchasing lunch in nearby shops or they can bring their own lunch.

?. What is grey training?

A. Grey training is unauthorised Cisco courses. These courses are provided for a fraction of the cost of a conventional training course very often using unauthorised out of date (and even photocopied) material, obsolete hardware and software.

MicroNET does not provide grey training.

?. Do the Instructors deliver courses full time?

A. The majority for MicroNET Instructors are contract consultants and provide consultancy services relating to Cisco products and solutions to Cisco customers and partners.

?. Have all MicroNET Instructors passed their certifications?

A. Before being permitted to teach a course, all CCSI’s must attend the course and pass the associated exam at Instructor level. This bar is set at a higher level then normal certification level. Additionally, Cisco Systems monitors feedback of all Instructors to ensure that they maintain a minimum evaluation feedback score of 4.2 out of 5.0.
